Extra Curricular

We organise a wide range of activities and excursions beyond the classroom, supporting and adding to the academic curriculum.

These bring students in direct contact with walks of life that are both relevant to their current studies as well as to their lives after school. They gain valuable hands-on insights into the broader community in which they live.

Visits to companies and industrial installations, trips to cultural and historical sites, all help enrich and bring to life material presented in the classroom, while also opening new horizons to the students. Course material is better assimilated, and students can place their learning within a broader applied environment. Participation in competitions such as the “BBC Speaking Awards” stimulates and develops skills that will be of key value not only at school, but also at university and in the workplace.

Cultural Day

Every year, our older students visit one of the many historical cities in Belgium to discover how they are surrounded centuries of culture, architecture and art. In recent years, our students have visited Bruges, Brussels, Ghent, Leuven, Liège, Lier and Mechelen.

Companies & Businesses

Some of the companies we visit are Antwerp Harbour, Aquafin, Coca Cola, De Koninck Brewery, Electrabel, ISVAG, etc. Our youngest students visit businesses local to our school, such as a baker, a dental practice, a garage, a newsagent, a supermarket, etc.

Museums

One of the many advantages of being located in Antwerp is that there are many fascinating museums in and around our city. Recently, our students have visited Antwerp Museum of Photography (FoMu), Museum aan de Stroom (MAS), Museum of Modern Art (MuKHA), The Red Star Line Museum, Royal Museum of Fine Arts (KMSKA), etc.

Science & Humanities Trips

Learning does not just take place in the classroom. Therefore, we organise curriculum-related field trips to the following fascinating destinations: Antwerp Central Train Station, Antwerp Eco House, Antwerp Fire Department, Antwerp Zoo, Aquatopia, Breendonk Concentration Camp, Flanders Fields, ‘t Groenhof, Kalmthoutse Heide, Mechelen Toy Museum, Mikerf, Museum of Natural Sciences, Peerdsbos, Verdronken Land van Saefthinge, etc.

Residential School Trips

Some of the teachers’ and students’ favourite trips of the school year are the residential trips and subject-related fieldtrips. These are packed with recreational activities, as well as field course work. Our older students head off to destinations including, Limburg, the Ardennes, France and the UK.
